"I'm scared all the time," she said, about her Saturn transit.
We were sitting across from each other at the cafe, staring at her chart together. I could understand her fear, easily. Who wouldn't? Only a blind man. This transit was brutal indeed.
I won't give you all the gory details now. Suffice to say it was one of the worst Saturn transits I'd ever seen. My eyes widened. I had quite a task before me: How to stay honest and real and true and helpful and also not lie through my teeth.
Saturn "rules" teeth and hard Saturn transits are hard Saturn transits, not Disneyland. This wasn't a moment to mince words. Saturn was biting her in the face, literally. My client had been bit by a rabid dog.
She had read my Saturn book cover to cover. "It's not helping," she said. This wasn't the moment to remind her that Saturn is a test, nothing more and nothing less. Does one blame a bone for breaking? Surely not. We are born to get hurt.
Here's part of what I said: sometimes in the midst of a hard father (Saturn) transit, one needs to look to the mother, the Moon, for what next and the perspective to take. And then pull a card. As always, pull a card. The cards know -- if only you learn to interpret them, which takes time and patience (a good activity for any Saturn transit).
But back to the Moon: We reviewed her natal moon and its natal aspects, what she needs to feel safe. The Tree of Life from the Kabbalah was also helpful here. Saturn is associated with Binah which resides along the Pillar of Severity. If you looked up self-attack in the dictionary you might have seen her face. So many stitches. I had the urge then to write across her forehead and down her cheeks words of adoration the embossed details of which I shall not share here.
Understanding her predicament was only the beginning though. A talisman was required and a number of incantations (far more complicated than I'd ever set to bring into being) and over the weeks her resistance to her Saturn transit started to soften. That softening was, after all, part of the process.
With Jupiter in Leo about to enter my 12th House for a year, I have a feeling I'll be sharing more such stories and remedies.
